iexplorer.exe - Application Error

May 4, 2007 2:07PM PDT

I am using Windows XP(Home Edition) with IE6 and just lately I have been getting the above error statement when I close out all the programs to shut down the computer. That is the last thing I see on the screen before I start the shutting down process. The statement says the following under the heading:

iexplorer.exe - Application Error

"The instruction at "0x62304390" referenced memory at "0x62304390". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program." And there is OK button and when I click on it, it goes away. What does that statement mean and what do I have to do to correct it or make it go away?

Try System Restore to a time/date prior to the occurrence of the problem.

First scan for and remove any viruses and or ad/spyware.

If you have any IE add-ons such as the Yahoo! tool bar, remove it.

I you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, a Yahoo! tool bar may have come with it. If this is the case, the only way I know to undo it is to uninstall then reinstall Adobe and uncheck the Yahoo! tool bar option during installation.

Some Google toolbar options have also been known to cause this. If you have a Google tool bar, remove all options except the basic search tool. If that doesn't work, uninstall the Google search entirely. I that works you probably need and earlier version.

Hope something here is helpful.

As advised I removed the Yahoo tool bar and it looks like it did the trick. I haven't seen the error message last two days. I will miss the Yahoo tool bar though...Thank you all for helping.

iexplorer.exe isn't Internet Explorer (that's one character less: iexplore.ext). So either there's a typo in your post, or it's another program (probably malware, that should be cleaned away).

When does this message appear?

HOW TO FIX = REFERENCED MEMORY AT "0X62304390"
May 27, 2007 1:07AM PDT

I was getting the same messages after I closed all my windows. I did two things. First I went to "Tools" and the "Internet Options" and deleted all files = BE SURE TO CHECK THE OFFLINE CONTENT ALSO.. THEN I clicked the "Advanced" tab and scrolled down to " HTTP1.1.SETTINGS" and unchecked that box. After that I rebooted my PC and haven't had the problem since.
