Question

IE9,or not?

Dec 29, 2011 2:06AM PST

I always post in the newbies section,because,the question sounds so simple sometimes.Here it is:how can I make sure I have IE9 d/l'ed on my computer.Every time I start up,my homepage says,at the top:upgrade to safer IE8,OR upgrade to IE9 now.Sounds stupid,I know,but,need to know.Thanks,chucker.

Answer
Depends on your OS . . .

Since you didn't tell us which one you have . . . To see what you have, at the top, click Help, About Internet Explorer.

XP supports up to IE8 (not IE9). Vista/W7 supports up to IE9.

If you've downloaded IE9, and I'm assuming you've run the installer? Then you should be running IE9. Open IE and click "Help" at the top and hover down to "About Internet Explorer" and it will tell you which version you are running.
