IE8 + Slimbrowser help wanted..........

I run XP Pro and I dont understand what it means in everyday language, when you go under 'Tools'/ Internet Options/Privacy tab and it says enable or uncheck 'InPrivate filtering'+ enable/disable toolbars and extensions when InPrivatefiltering starts........
- In untechnical language can somebody explain to me, what the 2 checkboxes are all about..........(InPrivateFiltering)
Thanks
