IE8 audio recording on how to remove IE cache, history and t

Nov 24, 2011 3:34AM PST

Every time I open IE8 or open a new page I get a recording about how to empty the cache, history and temp files. I can turn down the volume so I do not have to hear it but that is not a fix. I experienced this with IE7 alo and I thought an upgrade might fix it but, it did not. I have run Eset 32Nod 4 anti-virus and Malwarebytes and that di not fix the problem. Any suggestions?

1. Disable the Google toolbar.

Noted widely so do that next.

2. Some note the newest toolbar fixes it. Maybe not?

How strange.

Does this only happen to IE and not any other application or anything else you do in Windows?

If it happens to everything I would suggest that you need to disable the Narrator in the Control Panel > Ease of Access options, (Win 7 or Vista, or if this is XP it is Accessibility options).

We're on IE9 now in Vista/Win 7, so I'm guessing you are using XP.

Other than that I seem to remember when I got IE7 that when I first opened it I was presented with a "Features" welcome screen. I'm sure I had to click an option there to say 'no more, thank you'.

But if not either of those, then start looking at your IE add-ons, and see if there is anything strange there.

The Narrator is not turned on and I should have mentioned that my OS is Win7 64 bit Home Premium. I checked all my addons and nothing there appears to be a source of the problem.

If Bob's suggestion works

If Bob's idea works I would suggest you update IE to IE9. Each IE update is more secure.
