IE7 MS Hotfix?? HP m7750n w/Vista HP.

Jun 21, 2007 5:56PM PDT

I ran across a discussion on HP's Support/Forum regarding issues w/Vista & IE7 not playing NICE. There was a link to HOTFIX?? Web-Site, but it looked too complicated for a Newbie to risk.

Errors I've gotten Cannot Locate or Open the Page/Website, Page done opened w/Errors, Windows Diagnostics cannot find solution contact ISP or Admin.!!! I can sometimes Refresh & it will open the page.

This has been my main problem w/Vista (I thought) & what HP has had me do is run in circles with my ISP (though I did finally resolve the Broadband Connection here- no one else could) & of course their favorite!!!REINSTAL/RESTORE till I hope I haven't worn the PC or whatever else OUT.

I would appreciate any info. I also still have issues w/Vonage cutting out on my incoming side still. Didn't have before with prior XP PC.

Is it just IE7?

'Page opened with errors' isn't uncommon given most websites have coding flaws peppered throughout, but the 'cannot open page' is one you'd rather not encounter. I wonder if it's just IE or if other browsers, such as Opera and Firefox, would display the same problems. I also wonder what the internet portion of a free PCPitStop performance analysis would reveal about your actual bandwidth and ping results. Some things to check out.

Let us know.

IE7 Cannot Connect to some Web Servers??
Jun 22, 2007 6:43PM PDT

But sometimes they will when I refresh or click Back Arrow on Browser & then come Back!?

I have no Clue! And I decided to risk Windows Mail again. & now IT says Error 0X800CCC0F Socket Error 10053.

A number of possibilities...

For IE be sure to try the suggestions I made above and let us know how it goes.

For Windows Mail it could be a number of things:
* Connection is blocked by your firewall: Allow WM and open the ports. Try uninstalling your firewall and replacing it with another...some, such as Norton, can be problematic.
* Same thing with your antivirus and antispyware software.
* Ensure you have entered the correct server and port information when setting up the connection.
* Ensure the server is online and accepting communication from you.
