IE7 connection issues in Vista Home Premium

When I connect to the internet at work, my brand new (right out of the box) gateway tells me that it cannot connect. When I run the diagnostic, it tells me that I need to automatically accept the settings. I tell it to do so, and after restarting IE7, everything is fine. The next time that I restart the machine, it has forgotten the settings and then I have to go through the same steps to get online. The network at the office has no protection and none of the other machines 2 of which are running Vista have no issues.
