Download and use "IEFix" - a general purpose fix for Internet Explorer (Win 98/ME/2000/XP):
a. Registers Urlmon.dll, Mshtml.dll, Actxprxy.dll, Oleaut32.dll, Shell32.dll, Shdocvw.dll, [Q281679].
b. Refreshes Internet Explorer using IE.INF method. Note:
? "Unable to Install Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP (Q304872)"
? "How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP (Q31837
"
c. Initiates "SFC /Scannow" (Win2K&XP), [Q310747].
I run WIN 98SE and IE6 (fully updated)
On some sites I visit left-clicking links within the site causes a window to open but the page does not display until I hit the STOP followed by REFRESH.
I've found that there is an alternative. Right-click on the link and pick OPEN from the context menu. This opens the linked page in the same window.
Is this a problem? Do I have some settings not quite right?
