by excalibur08 / May 5, 2004 11:17 PM PDT

I'm running Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 on XP Home.

When I go to certain websites, e.g. - the browser window closes automatically.

Can anyone help?

this typically is a problem with slightly flakey HTML coding of the site. have you applied all the Windows updates for Internet Explorer? how about updates to your video card drivers?

Java Runtime Environment Update
by murfmurf / March 5, 2005 7:40 PM PST

I had similar problems. Various sites caused my browser to shut down unexpectedly.

Most likely causes are spyware / adware / virus. If you rules these out and problems persist it may be a recent installation of a J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update.

I resolved this issues by unintsalling Product: J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1, using add/remove programs in control panel.

Hope this post helps

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
