IE6 Autoproxy not working with VPN

Oct 3, 2004 7:08AM PDT

Hi all,

Does anyone have a work-a-round for the following problem? I'm using window's '98SE, IE6 SP++ all installed, I'm using Verizon DSL to connect to the internet and when I'm connecting to work from home, I'm using a VPN client from Nortel Networks with a secure ID process.

The problem is that, we have an Autoproxy that is to allow us to connect to the INTERNET & the INTRANET. The autoproxy doesn't work for the INTERNET but of course works for the INTRANET.

A couple weird things, I notice in IE6 that under LAN setting, I see PROXY setting for some reason do NOT work with VPN? It doesn't say that on autoproxy, just on proxy settings?

Second I have Foxfire also installed(the latest version out today), on the settings I can set up the autoproxy & it works perfectly, both INTERNET & INTRANET.

Am I doing something wrong on IE6? Is there a setting I'm missing, I know other people using IE6 & Window's XP or 2000 do not experience this problem at home.

Does anyone have a suggestion or some help?

Thanks,

Steve
