IE Script Error

by quandri22 / November 26, 2004 12:03 AM PST

I'm trying to install software for a HP pocket PC on my computer. When I run the CD I get the following message:

IE script error.
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 8
Char: 2
Err: Automation Server cannot create object.
Code: E
URL: File: //D:\AUTORUN\wizard1.htm

I'm running this on a 2.4Ghz P4 with Windows 2000. I downloaded and installed the latest IE update, but that turned out to be of no help.

One of the banes of today's devices is they deliver a non-working solution. I offer NO FIX for the issue, but note...

1. Try IEFIX on the PC.

2. See if HP has an update for the unit.

3. Call their support.

4. If they fail, return the unit as defective.
