IE & Pop-ups

Feb 25, 2006 10:57PM PST

I have, I believe, the latest version of IE; have Google toolbar and pop-up blocker is activated. Script debugging is turned off.

But, for whatever reason, I've just started getting those annoying pop-ups again. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Katiebug

What happens is...

The people who want to get popups to you find out how to do so in spite of the new blocker.

You also need to eject any and all pests you find with EWIDO and HOUSECALL (google.com)

Thanks, Bob. I do use Ewido all the time, but am not familiar with Housecall. Freeware?

It's a free online scan...

Housecall is a free online scan from TrendMicro, and frequently recommended in these forums as a check-up on the performance of your resident antivirus protection. You can run the scan by clicking here. Just note that online scans are not ideal for those with dial-up connections.

Hope this helps,
John

Thanks, John. Seems like anymore these days, one has almost as many antivirus, malware, spyware, adaware programs as regular programs!

Appreciate the link . . .
