IE FAVORITES can't be deleted or organized

by zammer8 / July 30, 2009 6:58 AM PDT

The FAVORITES cannot be deleted or organized. A person much more experienced than I tried a number of things, unsuccessfully, and said I must do an XP reinstall to correct this. I don't want to go through that hassle, Problem was there in IE 7, persists in IE 8. No problem with bookmarks in Chrome or Firefox.

CORRECTION--Ir's MSN
by zammer8 / July 30, 2009 7:15 AM PDT

I meant the favorites that are on MSN Explorer, which appears on my emails page--I use msn mail, and the MSN home page. I can access the favorites from the list, but when I click ORGANIZE, to edit them, it says "Loading," and the graphic turns, but it doesn't load.

I suggest you seek a second opinion - you do NOT want to reinstall Windows because of this issue - I suspect your friend may not be as experienced in computers as they claim they are. Does this problem occur just in IE or when you access the MSN page via any browser?

Realized you already answered my question in your OP. Try clearing the cache in IE (Tools>Internet Options>Delete browsing history.

90 minute online sension with MSN tech support eliminated sych, registry and every problem but software. I'll be un- and reinstalling MSN 9.6, for the third time, to see if that fixes it. The other two were for different problems. MSN 9 was OK, 9.6 is a mess. I use it only because msn.com email program is tied to it. My primary is Chrome, the IE. Let's consider this query closed. Thank you for your help.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
