Question

IE 9

Jul 2, 2011 6:13AM PDT

Windows 7 supposedly included IE 9 but the version that landed up in my new PC does not resemble any IE configuration at all. In fact the toolbar does not show file, tools etc. Any corrective suggestions?

Yes, they simplified the interface. Especially with widescreen monitors it pays to have as little useless bars on top. On my 4:3 screen I immediately enabled it.

Right click in the address bar and check "menu bar" to see it. That, by the way, already existed in IE8. But maybe it was on by default while in IE9 it's off by default. Small change, easily corrected.

When you bought or installed via yourself or computer manufacturer was IE9 out yet? Not any Beta but the released version. Last September when I got this Dell PC, I bought the Ultimate 64bit version, and when IE9 was released I went over to Microsoft and installed it.

To answer your question now. Just go over to Microsoft and d/l IE9, and install it. That way it will install it all new or it will overlap the IE9 if it is on the system. Either way then you will a working and functional IE9. And do not forget to check for updates right away to be safe.
