IE 8 got deleted off my computer?

Dec 1, 2010 5:28AM PST

I still have the 64-bit & 38-bit versions of IE,
but I want my original one back. I accidentally deleted it and I tried System Restore to get it back, but it didn't work.
I even tried looking for downloads but the downloads didn't have the version for Operation System: Windows 7 , which I have right now. Please help! Thank you.

Tried Re-enabling It?

You might try "repairing" IE8 by running the "Fixit" program in the link below:

How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP

If that doesn't get it done, then...

You can't really delete IE8 in Windows 7 but you can "hide" it.. Open the Control Panel-Programs and Features, then click on the "Turn Windows Features ON or Off" link on the left side of the screen. Once there, place a CHECK mark in the Internet Explorer 8 listing and follow the prompts to install it..

If there's already a CHECK mark, there, then try UNCHECKING it,, then follow the procedures to uninstall IE8, then restart the machine and go back to the same section and add the CHECK mark back to reinstall it again.

Hope this helps.
