IE 8 and Screen Saver

Jun 15, 2010 7:08PM PDT

I upgraded my IE 7 browser to IE 8 a few days ago, and since then my screen saver has failed to work.

I am using Windows Vista Home Premium on a Compaq notebook.

I have gone over the settings (Control Panel > Personalisation > Screen Saver) and all is okay (Windows Logo with 10 minutes waiting time).

Can anyone assist please?

Thanks

Some tests.

Upgrading to IE8 shouldn't affect your screen saver so I wonder if there are other problems.

But here's a couple of tests;

1] Change the Screen Saver to None. Click Apply/OK Use that for a while until your next reboot, then change it back and see if it resets.

2] Change the Screen Saver to some other option and Preview. Change the Wait period and test.

3] If neither work, check through the "Change Power Settings" to see if anything has been amended.
