Verizon has taken over my Internet Explorer. How do I get back to my original IE pages?

How so?

If you mean your homepage has been reset to Verizon's, then you can go Tools->Internet Options and enter the URL of your choice for your homepage.

If you mean your search page has been changed, you can go Tools->Internet Options->Programs and click the Reset Web Settings button.

Finally, if you mean the title bar is referencing Verizon, you can click here for instructions on debranding Internet Explorer.

Hope this helps,
John

Resetting homepage...
Sep 27, 2006 2:52PM PDT

If the standard method does not work, I turn to my security software...protection against browser hijacking is becoming a common feature. Windows Defender and Spybot S&D are among the free options that have this ability, so try using one of them to change and subsequently lock your homepage.

Issue resolved

With help from a knowledgeable Verizon support person named Sabrina, the issue is resolved.
She took me through the steps of optimizing browser settings and on reloading IE everything that had changed was back to original content.

Down loading & installing
Sep 29, 2006 1:13PM PDT

When I install software I have to be carefull off what I do during installation.
I read every thing very carefully, otherwise I could install somthing I do not want or during the installation install somthing I do not want or make changes to my computer I do not want.

Good luck:

I believe you are mistaken. I think you are talking about Windows XP SP1 not Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1.
