idx files

Toni, Just to let you know that I could not do anything with these files. They are all idx. files but looking like a wordpad. When I click on them, there are squares and two or three letters from the alphabet, but that's it. Each file shows 1kb, which seems strange also. I deleted the whole thing now. Finished. Just can't spend another night worrying about it. However, I followed your URL into microsoft and uninstalled incredimail via the registry step by step and came across an amazing amount of idx files.
No more incredimail for me.........
Hopefully the next problem I have, will be easier to handle. Thank you again for all the help. BTW, I love Virginia.

that you wound up losing all your old .eml files because of that crappy program. I was really hoping that when you mentioned that the number of files had doubled that part were going to be your .eml files again after they were converted.

I also love Virginia....that's why I chose to move here 16 years ago and leave my native Cleveland, Ohio finally.

Thank you, Toni. I am upset too, mostly because I had collected tons of family genealogy information in those emails and some of them contained maps, photos etc.
I normally try and fix my own problems, but when I get worried or know that I am unable to fix things, I come in here. It is comfortable and supportive and I want to thank you and everyone for helping.

My son lives in Arlington, Va. and his wife is from a beautiful farm in Earlysville (Charlottesville), VA. I often wonder what I am doing here.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
