I have bought IDE SATA to USB cable for use the Hard drive as external drive. But when I connect the power adopter to the Hard drive its component slightly burn and smoke is out. So I disconnect the power cable. Please help me whats the wrong? how can I solve this problem?

Not clear what you did wrong, but I'm afraid the hard drive is broken beyond repair.

Works every time and no smoke.
As Kees_B says, that drive is toast
