Hi Jess,
we've managed to include ID Protection within the product and the standalone application should be uninstalled. So there won't be any further additional icon, moreover the IDP is that well integrated into AVG IS, that it helps several other parts of AVG with the assessment of files/processes, using its behavioral engine.
So if you open AVG by double-clicking the desktop icon or the square, four-colored icon next to system clock, you should be able to see the IDP in the list of components.
If it's not there, there might be an additional effort required to get it in - we can get our support rep. in touch with you to help you out with this.
As for the error, could you mention exactly when it is shown? Is it possible to determine if it is related to some specific activity on PC?
Thanks!
I have searched the other threads but have yet to find one that would help me with what is going on here.
I'm running on windows XP on a Dell DM051 and I was prompted by version 8.5 to upgrade to 9.0 and after a while managed to get it running... However I no longer have Identity Protection, it says that it is disabled. Now, I read somewhere that ID Protection was only available for the paid version.. but I am confused, I paid for AVG 8.5 about two months ago and got this upload for free. Are you telling me that I paid for something that I have until 2011 but don't get the same features in the new upgrade?
I've tried to change the settings however all it tells me is "An error has occurred while saving the configuration. For all other unexpected errors."
Any information would be helpful before I lose my mind.
Jess
