2. Read this post about defrag on ME.
When PC booted up several days ago, all the icons were super large, and normal adjustments would not take effect. I booted in safe mode and scanned with SPYBOT, WEBROOT, and NORTON. None of those found any bugs. I restored to an earlier date, but the message I got said nothing had changed. Settings are at 640X480, and when I set to 1024X768, nothing changes on re-boot. I initially had some messages regarding Kb891711 and Kb918547, but they no longer appear. (I removed them from starting based on earlier research). I have tried to defrag, but am told that a scan must occur before I can defrag, but the scan (appears after every shut down via turn off rather than regular exit), merely cycles. Can this mess be cured?
