Icon shortcuts and my network

Aug 18, 2005 11:45PM PDT

I changed the name on my computer recently and now the pipeline icons in my network places don't show the pipeline symbol. The other computer on the network had the icons in place on the dektop but when you try to access them I get the following messages, for the files icon it shows "the driver or network connection shortcut is unavailable". For the data icon the message is "local device name in use- connection has not been restored" Any ideas on what I did wrong. When I changed the computer name it added it as a third computer on the workgroup, how do you remove that, I could not do it.
Small problem but I am trying to learn this stuff. Running windos XP on both and they are in the same workgroup.
