ichat av to isight audio problems

by philintoronto / March 28, 2005 10:13 AM PST

I am trying to use my isight to video chat from canada with my mom in bermuda. She is using AIM 5.9.

Everything works fine (video, text) except for the audio is greyed out in my ichat. She can see and hear me, but i cannot hear her.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Everything worked fine when I tested everything in canada.

What is the setup in Bermuda. Are both machines running the same OS.
Does Mumsie actually have her microphone connected at her end. Could it be that iChat is not receiving any audio from anywhere and so it grays out the menu?

Have you tested you Audio/Video setup with anyone else? Did it work?

Is your mom able to send/receive video from anyone else?
Seems strange that the XP version of AIM knows that you are not accepting audio. I have not seen that function.
As you have no problem with other audio users, I am still looking at Mumsie in Bermuda.
Let us know if she can talk with anyone else outside of Bermuda

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
