So when I close my lid on my g4 tiger os ibook, it goes into sleep, how can I make it so it takes no action at all?

I don't think you can

It is the normal function of laptop computers, of any kind, to go to sleep when the lid is closed.
Seems the logical thing to do. Rather like the light in the fridge going out when you close the door.

Sorry

it only makes sense...

the manufacturer is going to assume that if you close the lid you are preparing to pick up and move the notebook... in order to protect the hard drive platters the notebook will shut down and stop all rotation to avoid accidents.

Just curious but why do you want it to remain on with the lid closed? Are you using it as a desktop with separate monitor, key board etc?
