IBM Thinkpad T43

by Tarpon / May 18, 2005 12:52 AM PDT

I am looking to purchase this Notebook. I was thinking of Dell D810 but the general opinion about Dell's support seems negative and I have no patience to deal with poor support/quality.

What is the opinion of you experts on T43? This will be my first notebook ever. I read somewhere that if I need to return it, it is not advisable to buy from IBM directly. Why is that? I would have like to puchase from IBM directly since it gives me the option of customizing eveything. The outside vendors seem to have set configuarations available with no possibility of customizing as I want. Also do I need to worry about Lenovo taking over? Is IBM still handling the support or is it done by Lenovo?
