Question

IBM Thinkpad T40 Wireless & Ethernet Drivers

Oct 9, 2015 11:42AM PDT

Hi All,

I received a second hand laptop in the mail today and completed a fresh install of Windows XP professional on it. During this time, the Ethernet Controller & Wireless Card drivers have seemed to stop working. I have downloaded and attempted to install the correct drivers from Lenovo's website with no luck. Can anyone help me out?

NB: I also have exactly the same problem on an IBM Thinkpad T60.

My mom has a similar coreduo mobile Thinkpad.

XP does not work on it. I had to get it up to XP SP3 and that was painful to say the least. It's along the lines of this prior post:

Installing XP and more is far too hard for folk today and since I don't own your model I can't be specific about what's up this time.

Then again it's used so there could be hardware issues. When I suspect that I run a Linux OS for a time to sniff it out.
