IBM Think Pad T23 has a bad hard drive

Need I replace my existing hard drive with another
IBM product or would a Western Digital/Maxtor/Seagate product suffice?

Bob is right these are not propietary for the most part. Just about any 9.5 m drive will work..

Old IBM TravelStar Drives...

Many IBM TravelStar drives are inherently
defective. The brand has since been picked
up by Hitachi and updated. Just make sure you
don't buy an older IBM drive.
