IBM T20 contrast problems

Feb 9, 2005 6:50AM PST

Hi there,

I have a old T20 which has been quite good to me so far. Oflate when I start up my pc the contrast is gone to almost 5%. If I look closely I can see the screen. I have to hold the 'Esc' button for a minute or so and then the brightness would come up within 5 minutes. I tried updating the drivers but didnt help. I am sure some of you would have come across this problem. Please help. I dont wanna buy a new laptop just because of this reason.

Regards and Thanks,
Raaj

Backlights or inverters
Mar 22, 2005 6:19AM PST

Dark screens but normal video working in the background generally mean theres a faulty inverter or cold cathode. (Backlight).. Inverters are easy to replace but the backlights can be a pain. Buzz us if you need help.

hi,

I didnt get any reply. But when I spoke one person in my company's support, she said it could be the inverter problem. Not sure what the next step is.

let me know if you find anything.
