iaudio x5, song titles don't show, files don't play

Hi.

I just been given my first mp3 player, the iaudio x5. Two problems, it either doesn't play or doesn't display song titles, depending on the original source of the sound file.
1) It won't play anything I copy to it from my pc (Windows XP), but it will play new files ripped with JetShell. I already have a large music library on my pc, mostly wma and wav files. The X5 isn't syncing with Windows Media Player, even though Windows Media Player can read and play files directly from the X5. Fine. So I click and drag the various file folders from my pc into JetShell and onto the X5. The files and song titles display correctly on the X5 screen, but the X5 cannot play them. It attempts for a couple seconds, then starts cycling through the list of songs looking for something it can play.
2) So I rip a new cd with JetShell in wma and wav formats. The X5 can play these newly created files, so that works. However the song titles don't come through even though they seem to be there when viewed from the JetShell software. From the X5 display the album title is displayed over and over instead of the song titles.
What could be wrong? I've updated the firmware and Jetshell from the iaudio website. I've tried this with several different cd's and pc files, always the same result. I've looked at several reviews and forums and nothing like this is described. I love the sound quality, and the navigation is alright and would like to keep it, but I'll have to return this if I can't solve at least one of these problems. Any ideas? Thanks.
