Question

I wonder....

Jul 14, 2011 11:54AM PDT

I have been looking around for a new laptop
since the one I have has been doing strange
thing - but I was quite confused (!'m so is entitled) by the vast difference in the price range, from about $600 to $2200.all are from reputable manufacterer, its not a guy who fixes
up old ones nor is it from it "fell off a truck''.
so please, just to satify an old man's curiosity..

Answer
Let's take two laptops.

One has Windows from the usual places. The other is from Apple.

One's pretty cheap and if there is some oddity you find and it's some Windows annoyance that makes you workaround it, you might be lucky to get support for that and even luckier to be told of the workaround by the maker of the laptop. That is, the laptop maker rarely gives Windows support.

The Apple on the other hand is made by them along with the OS. If you find something it's one place to go get the answer.

To many, that's worth something.
