I wil install Boot Camp. Not sure how much Xp partition

Oct 14, 2006 12:55PM PDT

I will be installing Boot Camp and I am not sure how large the XP partition should be. I thought about setting the partition for an even split. Do you think that this is too much?

Please advice. I am a novice to the MacWorld.

It depends on how big your HD is...and what you are gonna use it for!

I have a 80 GB HD and i partitioned 20 GB to Windows...

The choices of size

using the "easy" method are to "Divide Equally" or "32GB".

Try that and if it is not large enough, I believe you can change it later. As the previous poster said, it depends on what you want to do.

A word of caution. Pay close attention during the XP install. You are asked to select the drive on which to install XP. Make sure you choose correctly. Apparently a number of people have made the wrong choice and the XP installation program has formatted the other, "Mac", partition and did not install XP. Ooops.

Good Luck
