I want to drop my anti virus program.

Aug 5, 2017 11:48AM PDT

I have an anti virus service that I want to discontinue but it does not tell me how to do it. I want to go to another AV program without having both of them in my system. I think if I just send it to the trash can they will continue billing me. is there a good way to do this. I am using Windows 7 Can I name the AV system I am now using?

Help

Not sure which product or company you are using, but maybe I can help. If you have an auto-renewing license, it will likely auto-renew whether you have it installed on your machine or not (at least with us, licenses can be moved from one machine to another, for example) In other words, simply uninstalling the program won't cancel your subscription.

If you want to cancel the subscription to whatever service you have, you will need to contact the company's customer support or billing area.

Generally, it's not advisable to run two active scanning security programs at one time, as they can often interfere with each other. Avast does have a Passive Mode, so for example if you had another program licensed but wanted to use the features and on-demand scanning of Avast, we do support that Happy

Hope that helps!

have to contact the AV Maker. Uninstall it and install the new software. But you will have to look at your account and check if you have auto renewal. Typically u pay and renew for a year. You should be able to get to your account and disable auto renewal if you have it. If you don't just don't renew when you receive email from them.
