What details should I look for when selecting which headphones to buy? I want the best bass possible. And where should I start looking?

Are there any specific models that you guys have in mind? I would prefer the cost be less than 400 dollars. I care about bass first and foremost. noise cancelation is a luxuery but not required. Other features are nice as well. I want perfect sound.

No one has perfect ears (?) so how about the Sennheiser HD 598 ?
