I want to buy apps and from itunes France

by jpseba / March 16, 2009 3:55 PM PDT

How can I buy stuff from worldwide itunes stores since Aple does not let me?

I think it's stupid; it should be like any other online store (Amazon.com, Ebay). all you need is a credit card. But apple is limiting my tastes....

Find a friend with an account

Hey!

I had the same issue. I wanted to buy the app that allows you to use Wifi through your phone carrier, like Neuf wifi or FreeWifi. Note these are free apps. The only way I could do it was to log into a friend's itunes account, download the app, and then switch back to my US account.

The whole thing is so stupid. The itunes agreement is so threatening, saying that you are only allowed to purchase items in the US, yet they make it so hard to set up accounts in other countries. In France, you have to have a French bank account, for example.

Hope this helps!

Although this is annoying,

it is not altogether the fault of Apple.

To open the iTunes stores in various countries, Apple has to follow the rules laid down by those countries. It is not just a question of throwing up a website and getting on with business.

US residents cannot buy from the Canadian store, and vice versa, either.

If, like me, you have credit cards from different countries, you can purchase stuff easily from the iTunes store of those countries.

The problem is the difficulty in obtaining a legal credit card from another country.
