I hope I have entered this in the correct forum. I am a computer newbie who right now is ABOUT TO LOSE IT!!!!! When I purchased my E-machines desktop with windows XP home, I had Best Buy install a Linksys router (WRT54G) to it and then connect my laptop with a secure network which they did and called it "home". I did the same at my Mom's and called it "cape". Unfortunately, the "cape" connection shows unsecured but supposedly they (not Best Buy) entered my MAC address so I'm the only one to access it, but that's another story. Anyway, I'm home now and I view the wireless networks and somehow I'm not at "home" but on a "linksys" network that is unsecured. I have no idea how that happened, I have three networks listed....linksys, home, and cape. I tried to change the preference to show "home" first but I can't get off the linksys network. Under WIFI properties-association the Linksys net auth shows open and the "home" shows WPA-PSK. The data encrypt linksys shows disabled and the "home" shows TKIP.
Can anyone help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
