I've got a Nook Color...

& with the problems B&N has now, I think I'm jumping ship before it all craters. Any suggestions on tablets? Fire, Android, IPADS. Would like to know.

Me too.

I looked around and found a way to load Android on it and my Nook app still works so no loss.

But if you like these units, be sure to look at the Kindle Fire HD. We have that one too and it's very nice. At the office I have access to about a dozen tablets and phones but not iPad. The reason is that our apps can't run on that. Silly but if you ask me, I'll nod to the KF HD, Google's Nexus, Asus Transformer and many others you may have heard of.

You don't need the Kindle Fire to get at your books.

I have been looking @ the Kindle Fire,iPad, Nexus, but that is far as I've got. I thought the Fire format was proprietary?

In what way?

I can read PDFs and more. Care to be more specific?

Also, since you can get Android (the full deal/real) why isn't that an option? On mine I have Android, the Nook reader and the Amazon Reader apps. Seems fine here.
