I think there's a prob. with my Radeon 8500

by rortiz2102 / May 6, 2004 4:35 PM PDT

I just recently go windows Xp installed onto my computer. I'm running an Athlon 1800 XP with a Radeon 8500 video card and a 7200 RPM 40 GB HD + 20 GB HD. Sometimes after after viewing several movie clips the screen will go blank and the light will be blinking as if it is in hibernate mode. It does this even more when I play Rise of Nations (war sim) for awhile. So this makes me think it's my video card. Can someone help me with this, because I'm not sure which part I need to change, the processor or the video card. If it's the video card I'm only looking to spend about $75, suggestions are welcome.

Just a couple things I want to add. When it goes into hibernate mode there is no way to get out of it unless I turn off my computer. I'm running 256 MB RAM and my vid. card is a 64 MB one.

Could be it is overheating, you could try opening the case and pointing a fan at it and then trying the game to see if you can reproduct the problem.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
