Question

I think I have RAT trojan on my computer. Can anyone help?

Mar 18, 2015 10:55AM PDT

Hi everyone, about 2 days ago, a random file called f.txt downloaded on my computer. I was busy doing something so I didn't notice it. But yesterday, I suddenly had a pop up saying windows script host, like the black box with something written inside it in white. It closed in like 30 seconds & then my hp quick launch said it was installing. So then I freaked out, and now I'm worried that I might have a trojan. I downloaded avg scanner, kaspersky & bit defender. All the scans came back with nothing except possible threats. Can someone please tell me how to diagnose if my computer has been hacked? I haven't noticed any slowing or lagging except I had a blue screen about 4 days ago, before I even downloaded this I think.

Basically, is there any way to know if someone has remote access to my computer?
Is this how a rat trojan works?

I also must mention that I did not open the f.txt file. It just downloaded automatically while visiting a random website!!
I have no idea about computers so please give me an answer that's easy to understand.

Answer
Few more details

there are no cases of f.txt being a Trojan on the Internet.. Which is why I'm here.. I would really appreciate some help!!
I wouldn't be this worried if it's normal malware Trojan.. My worry is that it is RAT
Also, I forgot to mention that I had my firewall on but my antivirus is expired so it can detect threats but cannot remove I think.

With so many free antivirus, why would we go without?
