I screwed up

by buchtes / January 28, 2010 2:26 AM PST

hope someone can help: While attempting to repair Win. XP Home version from the xp installation CD that came with the machine, the PC was looking for a file it could not find. After a long time I had to shut it off. When restarted it said:
Windows could not start because or an error in the software. Please report problem as load needed for DLL's for Kernel.
Please contact support person.
It is a Intel Pentium 4, all other info is in the PC which I do not have access for at this time. Any help is very appreciated.

Yep, Try The Repair Install Again..

This time, if you see any mention of file that can be found during the installation, there is usually an option to simply continue without finding such. Eventually, the installation should finish..

Recognize also that the problem may be the XP disc is faulty or the DVD/CD drive is not reading discs correctly.. A replacement of either item may fix the problem.

Hope this helps.
