Some say to download anti-virus, but most say don't. All a matter of personal preference. As I understand, there is no credible phone virus currently out there, but I won't say it won't ever happen.

Personally, I believe the expression, "An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure". Some folks point out that every application running in the background can slow down other features/services on the device and they are correct. I won't tell you that you need to download one.
