The software that made it act like a big floppy is often locked to specific make or models. When people change the make/model of the CDRW/DVDRW drive they discover the issues and agreements between makers and software vendors. Some scream they just want it to work and don't want to know why. (I can't tell which camp you fall into) But because the drive changed at the least you'll have to uninstall then reinstall the software (what title you did not tell) that supplies the featur to at worst buy a new package that supports your drive.

In the meantime while you sort that out CDBURNERXP should work for free but without the dragandrop feature.
