i pod screwing up......

Hello everybody. I am having issues with connecting my ipod 30 GB video white to my computer. i am running windows xp sp2 and the cpu speed is currently at 2.3 Ghz. I have tried to link it several times, and I get a window that says that my ipod is corrupted. Then it gives me a restore option. It will start to restore, then a new window opens up. It says that "an unknown error has occurred 1415". I have tried the "5- Rs" and I still get the same thing. Can anyone help me?????? Thanks a lot.
