I Phone - virus protection

Jul 30, 2010 10:56PM PDT

I have a security question for my Iphone 3g
which I mostly use to check my email.
Do I need a virus program on my Iphone or does the one installed on my laptop carry over?
I just recently gathered three viruses on my computer so I am still wondering: where did I get them?
Thanks for your input.

What OS are you using on your laptop?

I have not heard of any virus's for the iphone. I'm sure that if one did exist, then it would be all over the news by now, given how the media like to slam Apple.

If your laptop is running OS X, then you do not have 3 virus's on it, so I suspect you are running Windows on the laptop.

No, any AV software on your laptop will do nothing for your iPhone.

OS on my laptop - virus on IPhone

Thank you for the info.
I am running XP Pro on my laptop. Agree about the virus info but as I am not always "up on the news" I thought it was good to ask the experts. Thanks.
