You haven't upgraded to FF3 yet?
I'm not saying it will solve the problems you are having, but it has been out for a while now, and any teething problems there were seem to have been ironed out.
As to FF and these forums, have you tried disabling all your addons and extensions? If that improves performance, then add them back in, one at a time, to see if any of them are causing the difficulties.

i got the "all you need to know about FF2.0.0.16 update"
maybe FF3 is a secret?![]()

an improvement i admit, but still having a problem with that black bar at the top
when the page is loading, it "stutters" 3-4 times and then everything freezes for 2-3 seconds on each stutter
maybe i need Johns latest CSS file (or maybe revert back to the original FF one?)
