I need suggestions. My son hates the flash on my current cam

I currently have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5. I love the camera but my son hates the flash when I take indoor pictures. Every picture of him indoors is with him with his eyes closed. I did some research and bought a Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR because it has a feature to take good pictures in lower light without the flash. I think the ISO is set higher. Well I took some pictures with it and I can get a decent picture from it. None of them look clear, i'm guessing due to the ISO being set higher. So now I am looking for another camera. The main thing I am looking for is a camera that won't make my son cringe when I take an indoor photo of him, also I would like it to be pocket size and have at least 10X optical zoom. What would you recommend?

Flash

If you like the Panasonic LZ5, there is no need to get another camera.

Just use the flash without the Red-Eye setting.

Some people are sensitive to that small pre-flash that is used by the Red-Eye feature.
They will always have their eyes shut when using Red-Eye, regardless of which camera you use.

yes

Stay with the LZ5 also because you're asking for a camera that doesn't exist yet.
