I need some help with the table

by dorightok / March 25, 2009 2:33 PM PDT

Hi!

I've had some trouble creating a simple page.
I'm trying to build a page with just the one
table. This will be white and I will place my
copy inside it. Surrounding this table will
be about a 2" color border. Above the table
I would like perhaps my website name. Could
you show me what the html would look like?

Thank you for responding,

dorightok

No need for a table

Use divisions and CSS for positioning. Tables are meant for tabular data, not layout.

Ne need for tables

but here is the code:

----

[h1 style="text-align: center;"]Web Site Title[/h1]

[div style="border: 3px solid #000; width: 800px; margin: 0px auto 0px auto; padding: 10px;"]

[p]Content here[/p]

[/div]

----

Note that all square brackets [ ] need to replaced by angled brackets.

Also, this code goes in the <body> of the web page document... you still need a doctype and the <head>. I'm using inline CSS in this example, so you should probably convert this to at least internal CSS (if you only have one document) or external CSS (using a stylesheet) to make it efficient for multiple pages.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
