I need some help using my laptop on my Hdtv

by bobsigny / December 1, 2009 11:53 AM PST

I just purchased an hdtv-lcd and it did not come with a VGA input for my computer to be plugged in.

I know that there are VGA to HDMI/DVI/USB converters, but they are too much money for me right now.

I had an idea of using VGA(from my computer) to either composite video or S-Video(to input in my TV).

Can Someone tell me if this will work? Or if there is a cheaper method?

Thankyou in advanced!

While you have that idea, the problem is the resolution would be 480 (i or p) and just be ugly.

Why connect this?

I want to be able to watch TV shows from my laptop on my TV. Using hulu.com and other media television shows online.

I don't really care if its not super high quality as long as I can see it.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
