It's an Ethernet port, or, simply the broadband connector. It is used with cable or DSL. So, your choices for this port are cable Internet or DSL. Each of these will have its own modem (different from a dial up modem) that will connect to the Ethernet port of the PC. These services are more expensive than dial up but the connect speed will blow you away. Only you can find out if cable or DSL is available in your area.
This is rather embarassing ,but I know almost nothing about high speed internet. All I know is that I am tired of dialup. My computer is supposed to equipped for high speed internet. It has a modem with what looks like a very large phone commection. That is the high speed modem isn't it? How is this connected to the internet?
Does anyone have opinions on the best ISP? I have AT&T for phone service.
Thanks
