General discussion

I need some advice on a replacement speaker.

I bought a good used RCA surround sound system with a sub that had cracks around the speaker itself. It is an 8" 4 ohm speaker, and I'm trying to replace just the speaker because the cabinet is good. I'm not sure whether to get a home audio or car audio speaker (if there's a difference), what brands are worth buying, how much I can plan on spending, and a good online store. I know next to nothing about speakers, so whatever you would like to teach me would be much appreciated.
Thanks, and God bless!
Mark
