Question

I need help with a system restore/broken wifi problem.

May 10, 2018 7:25PM PDT

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC with an Intel Core i5-421OU CPU @ 1.70 GHz 2.40 GHz. Recently my wifi was not working. It kept saying that I needed to plug in a cable and/or that my wifi connection was not on. I couldn't fix that, I used regular troubleshooting and HP Support Assisstant. I had to do a system restore. After the system restore the wifi still didn't work. I tried troubleshooting but that didn't help, but HP Support Asisstant was able to get my wifi up again. Now I have my connection but my computer is running much slower than usual and I have updates ready to be installed but I don't want to restart my computer because I fear that it will take out my wifi again if I reinstall the updates. I also tried to use HP Support Assistant again but now it won't open, it says it is being run by another user. Usually I would restart my computer to see if that helps but as I stated before, I don't think I should restart. I've run antivirus and anitmalware programs to no avail. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
