General discussion

I need help in buying a new computer.

Nov 12, 2009 11:03PM PST

6 months ago I bought a HP G60-237us notebook with vista which I never used before and its horrible, I had an older XP dell inspiron for 6 years which worked fine until it crashed.... So I am now in need of another computer...Please I guess I am stuck with window 7 which I understand is a glorified vista product. I just want it to run at a good speed without problems at a good price..

I didn't care for Vista much but 7 is here on the new iron (the office supplies me with the new laptop) and I can't complain.

Change is hard, vista didn't help anyone so why not try the following.

Let someone upgrade your Vista laptop to 7. That way you avoid anything annoying along the way. Seems cheap.

There is one issue in your post. You want "without problems." Even XP had problems. Maybe you just learned to live with it?

You might want to let someone else upgrade it. That way you wouldn't see all the mess along the way.
